Community of
Care was formed with the philosophy that only through families and
healthcare professionals working side by side to form a true community
of care, can we foster the thoughtful excellence in critical care that
our newborn children deserve.
Community
of Care believes we must do all we can to support basic science and
quality of life improvements for critically ill newborns and their
families.
Our vision for family-centered
care goes far beyond the first days of life that children and their
families spend in the hospital.
The goal
of this site is to expand the reach of Community of Care beyond its
base at the NYU's nationally renowned Neonatology Intensive Care
Programs at Tisch and Bellvue Hospitals to all families and health care
professionals concerned with neonatal critical care.
In the
years to come, we aspire to become an international clearing house of
information on best clinical practices and a comprehensive support
system to families of critically-ill newborns everywhere.
